Annual leave and special leave

Maternity leave/pay

The Trust offers generous maternity leave and pay. Your entitlement depends on the amount of NHS continuous service, as detailed in the trusts maternity policy.

Career leave

Staff with more than two years’ service can apply to take an unpaid break from work for up to five years for domestic reasons. Return to work would be on the original terms and conditions. Further details are available in the career break policy.

Special leave

Special leave can be requested, whether paid or unpaid, for domestic or personal reasons, such as compassionate grounds, adoption or paternity. Please see the special leave policy for more details.

Job share

All posts, wherever possible and subject to management approval, may be worked on a job share basis, therefore, providing an opening for job opportunities for people with other responsibilities or interests. Further details can be found in the trusts job share policy.

Counselling service

A Counselling Service is available for all staff for personal or work related issues. The Service is entirely confidential and provided by independent counsellors who can be contacted by calling 01276 526480 which is a 24 hour answerphone service.

Child care

Computershare vouchers

These vouchers are flexible and can be used to pay for a range of childcare. Vouchers are non-taxable and exempt from national insurance contributions and may help reduce the cost of your childcare.

On site nursery

We offer affordable, high quality graduate-led nursery care and education for children aged 3 months to 5 years. Each of the hospital sites has a purpose-built day nursery where children both thrive in their development and progress in their education. Forest Lodge is managed by Countryside Day Nurseries

Pension scheme?

The Trust operates both the NHS pension scheme (amended April 2008) and the new NHS pension scheme (started in April 2008). All pension benefits are based on pensionable salary and length of membership in the scheme. As a member of the Scheme you may be able to increase your benefits by making additional payments or paying additional voluntary contributions (AVC’s). New members of staff may be able to transfer their pension entitlement from another provider to the NHS pension scheme/New NHS pension scheme.

Learning and education

Training and development

Excellent training opportunities are available for all staff. These include management development, clinical skills training, personal skills, IT and Health and Safety.


The Health Services library is available to all trust staff. A range of services and resources are offered. The library’s main stock consists of books and journals that support study, research and patient care. A collection of DVDs and books relating to all aspects of healthy living (e.g. diet and exercise) are also available. Staff have access to the internet, intranet and Microsoft office in the library’s IT Suit. 24 hour computer and reference access are available for those with a trust ID badge.?

Social activities

Social events committee

As a Frimley Health Foundation Trust employee you are welcome to join the staff social events committee. The committee organises a wide range of events throughout the year –including parties, theater trips, quiz nights, cabaret nights and much more. It is a great way to meet new people and get to know your colleagues.
